I have always considered Starkville, Mississippi, my home, but I was born and raised in Tupelo. I attended Itawamba Community College my freshman year and East Mississippi Community College my sophomore year, before I transferred to Mississippi State University. I majored in English and was an active member in Alpha Delta Pi sorority and Circle K International. I made my move to Gastonia, North Carolina, after I graduated with honors from MSU.

It was not until my senior year of college that I became interested in law. My objective had always been to work at a book publishing company, but prior to graduation, I began to search for entry positions in law firms. Almost immediately, I set my sights on the McIlveen Family Law Firm. I could see myself growing not only professionally, as I gained first-hand experience working in a law firm, but also personally.

As a product of divorced parents, I have the highest regards for the McIlveen Family Law Firm. I am blessed that my family could conquer our challenges and differences. Now, I feel empowered as I am presented with the opportunity to use my experiences in being compassionate and understanding to our clients.
