Ryan Hennelly

Ryan Hennelly is a family law attorney. Ryan works primarily in our Gastonia, NC office. He represents clients in all areas of family law.

Hear from Ryan why he became a family law attorney:

Divorce has had a tremendous impact on my life from a very early age. When I was seven years old my parents separated. At the time I was too young to understand what that meant but as I grew older, I began to appreciate more and more both the way they handled their divorce and the overall positive impact it had on my life. Because of that decision I was raised by, not two, but three loving parents and my brother and I gained three wonderful siblings.

I grew up in Charlotte and loved it so much that I decided North Carolina was my home for life. After high school, I made the trek up the mountain and spent four amazing years at Appalachian State University. My time in App’s Political Science department convinced me that I wanted to be a lawyer so, upon graduation, I packed up my apartment and moved to Chapel Hill to begin law school.

During law school it became clear that I had both a passion and a talent for anything involving litigation. I was an active member of the Moot Court team and was eventually honored to be inducted into the Order of the Barristers for my work. As graduation drew near it became clear to me that I was meant to practice family law. No other area of law allows me to work in an area that has so deeply affected my life while also letting me zealously advocate for my client to help achieve the best possible outcome.

When I’m not in the office, you can find me on the golf course, finding new restaurants in Charlotte, or cheering on App State football.
